Chesapeake Life Center Announces Grief Support Schedule
Chesapeake Life Center will offer a variety of grief support groups through the end of this year on the John & Cathy Belcher Campus at 90 Ritchie Highway in Pasadena. Registration is required for all groups and can be completed by calling 888-501-7077 or by visiting www.chesapeakelifecenter.org.
· Morning Grief Support Group is a facilitated six-week support group offering an opportunity to share with others while exploring coping strategies. The group will meet 10:00-11:30am on Thursdays from October 5 to November 9.
· Evening Grief Support Group offers attendees an opportunity to explore grief themes and share strategies for healing within a community of trust. The group will meet 6:00-7:30pm on Thursdays through November 2.
· Child Loss Support Group is for parents experiencing the loss of a child of any age. The group will meet on October 7, November 4 and December 2. Call for times.
· Loss of Life Partner/Spouse Monthly Evening Group is for grieving career-age individuals that will meet 6:30-8:00pm on Wednesdays, October 18, November 15 and December 20. Call for child care availability.
· Suicide Grievers is for those grieving the death of a loved one by suicide. The group will meet Tuesdays evenings, October 10, November 14 and December 12. Call for times and to speak with a counselor prior to attending your first meeting.
· Together…Silent No More is a monthly support group for those grieving a loss due to substance abuse. The group will meet Monday evenings, October 16, November 20 and December 18. Call for times and to speak with a counselor prior to attending your first meeting.
· Gone Too Soon is a group for young adults ages 18 to 24 who have experienced a loss, whether recent or long passed. Gone Too Soon meets regularly at the Starbucks at 503 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park. It is an informal gathering offered as a way to connect over coffee and conversation. Call for dates and times.
Chesapeake Life Center, a program service of Hospice of the Chesapeake, serves hospice family members and the community with bereavement services and activities aimed at enhancing the quality of life for those grieving the loss of a loved one.
