Don’t think that good-quality steaks and fine wine have to come with a big bill and child-unfriendly formality. Pascal’s Chophouse, recently opened in the Magothy Gateway shopping center by Severna Park residents Robert and Caroline Pascal, is changing that concept by offering the same steak as the world-famous Peter Luger Steak House in Chicago and the same wines as the Inn at Little Washington in D.C. but at a fraction of the cost.

“We are a farm-to-table restaurant that offers all the amenities of a fine-dining, white-tablecloth restaurant with the atmosphere of your favorite neighborhood haunt,” said Brian Sanders, the restaurant’s assistant manager and beverage specialist.

The Pascals have enjoyed success in the restaurant industry by running three establishments in St. Michael’s, but now they’re proud to begin this new venture right in the community they call home. Their team at the restaurant, in addition to Sanders, includes General Manager Gerleene “G” Dorce and Chef Michael Quattrucci. All their Maryland-raised beef comes from JW Treuth, a Catonsville butcher/supplier owned by Severna Park resident Jason Trippett.

The attractive interior of the restaurant was designed by Caroline Pascal, who – in addition to being a two-time graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park – has “an amazing eye for interior design,” in the words of Sanders.

The team looks forward to serving the Severna Park community and providing a new dining experience. “You get an amazing steak and amazing wine list, but it’s in your neighborhood,” Sanders said. “We offer an awesome product in a low-key, family atmosphere. We make it fun; we make it edgy. We redefine casual fine dining.”

The new farm-to-table chophouse is located in the Magothy Gateway shopping center at 139A Ritchie Highway in Severna Park, next to the Harris Teeter. For more information, visit www.pascalschophouse.com or call 410- 647-8216.
