10 Free Flowering Trees from Arbor Day Foundation

Celebrate the new year in Maryland by joining the Arbor Day Foundation for a $10 contribution.  You will receive 10 free flowering trees - each 6 to 12 inches in height - postpaid with planting instructions.  There will be two white flowering dogwoods, two flowering crabapples, two Washington hawthorns, two American redbuds, and two goldenraintrees.  These trees are guaranteed to grow or they will be replaced free of charge.  Trees will be shipped at the right time for planting, between February 1 and May 31.

County Executive John Leopold Mobilizes Public Works Crews to Tackle Snow and Freezing Rain

Leopold said, "A full contingent of Public Works crews is out on our arterial and collector roads to treat them wtih salt and de-icer.  We ask that motorists exercise caution on the roads with very slippery conditions expected.  Salting contractors will be called in as needed."
