Severna Park HS Names Kristofer Dean New Girls Basketball Coach

Written by | May 23, 2017

Severna Park High School proudly announces Mr. Kristofer Dean as the new girls basketball coach at Severna Park High School. Mr. Dean is extremely knowledgeable in the sport and has been very successful in serving as a coach at many different levels; most recently as the head girls basketball coach at Glen Burnie High School. Mr. Dean earned his Bachelor’s Degree of Science and Master’s Degree in Education (Coaching Pedagogy) at the State University of New York at Cortland. While completing his Master’s degree, he took on an internship/assistant position at the University of Maryland at College Park under Head Coach Brenda Frese. SPHS is pleased to have Mr. Dean join the proud tradition of excellence at SPHS as the newly-named head coach of girls basketball.

“I am extremely humbled and honored to have been given this opportunity,” said Dean. “I could not have more admiration for Dave Lanham and the entire Severna Park Athletic Department and administration. As I make this transition, I can only feel incredibly proud and thankful for the time spent at Glen Burnie. I want to thank Bruce Sider, Kyle Hines and Ryan Woods as they have been a great support to me over the past four years. I also want to thank my incredible staff: Donny Williams, Destiny Jacobs and Pat Carr. I will definitely miss my Gopher family, but will always support them from a distance. Moving forward, I couldn’t be more excited to continue the Falcon ways. My staff and I, and all of our student-athletes will make Severna Park proud on and off the court. We look forward to getting started right away. Go Falcons!”
